Abstract
The aim of this paper is to analyse the effect of increased rate of turnover in the private sector of Maldives. In addition to that, analyse the ways that can be used for employee retention in the sector. There are many factors that affect employee turnover rate. But there are factors that influence them to leave the organizations. Employee retention is the major challenge faced by companies in the private sector. The research is done to identify the factors that influence the staff to leave and to measure the impact gender, length of service, organizational leadership and the role of salary on employee retention and satisfaction.
In this research, researcher uses quantitative method to collect data. An online questionnaire made in Google forms is distributed to the participants. Total 50 responses were received. When the responses reached to 50, online questionnaire was closed. After that responses were analysed by transferring data to a spreadsheet.
