ABSTRACT
Employee or labor turnover can be defined as the rotation of workers around the labor market; between firms, jobs and occupations, and between the states of employment and unemployment (Abassi and Hollman 2000). However, employees switch organizations for several reasons that Human Resource experts and researchers are trying to figure out. Reward and remuneration management or packages greatly effect on employee motivation which directly rely on the job satisfaction which may retain employees within the organization, hence an attractive rewarding system may minimize employee turnover of the companies.
Kuramathi Tourist Island also faced problem of high turnover due to many reasons and are trying to minimize turnover rate by retaining individual workers for long period of time. Thus personnel department activities had widen to HR features and new rewarding packages structured assisted a lot to minimize high turnover of the organization during the past years.
The purpose of this study is to investigate impact of reward and remuneration management on employee turnover in Kuramathi Tourist Island of the Maldives. The total sample population of this study is 81 respondents including both male and female between the ages of 18 to 60. Moreover, the study is based on both primary and secondary data collection method where primary data were collected through a questionnaire while secondary data collected from the organizational records.
The result shows that rewarding system of the organization had a great connection between labor turnovers.
