ABSTRACT
In most of the countries public sector is going through overpowering and restructuring their working environment to become more effective and efficient. One of the main facts is the ongoing change that takes place in the organization. Hence understanding of the employee's behavior toward changes is very important in order for the organization to perform and become successful. Throughout the process the organization faces many challenges and obstacles in implement the changes.
The purpose of this study is to examine "the employee's behavior towards change in the public sector organization". An analysis between three selective stakeholders of the government was chosen to generalize the public sector. In order to carry out the study, qualitative approach was used whereby data was collected from different sources including interviews and using secondary data (Articles, journals, documents and so forth).
The study mainly focus on findings based on the research question on how the employees react or behave in the situation of a change, change resistance, ways that we could minimize the challenges and obstacles that the employees face towards the change and on how to increase the productivity of employees.
The study revealed that employee's behaviors towards change can be classified in to two, adapting the change or rejecting the change. The lack of awareness in the most of the organization leads to difficulty in adapting the changes and the uncertainty of change makes the employees resist. The success or failure of change depends on the behavior and the perception of people involved. In addition, more emphasis is placed on the manager's role in leading the change and executing the changes in the organization and enhances the communication and transparency process between the employees and managers.
