ABSTRACT
The main objective of this study was to understand the relationship between Organizational effects of the
merger on operational employees. Specifically, the concept of job satisfaction was examined in relation
to former Kooddoo Fisheries Maldives Ltd and Felivaru Fisheries Maldives Ltd employees who were
moved to MIFC0 after the merger of Kooddoo Fisheries Maldives Ltd and Felivaru Fisheries Maldives Ltd.
Variables such as age, marital status, education level, gender and job security have been tested for
potential significant relationship with job satisfaction of employees. Management involvement and
intervention in mergers and examines whether the institutions affected satisfaction employee
satisfaction.
The researchers used a combination of qualitative and quantitative data collection methods. With the
help of questionnaires, interviews and observations, the researchers achieved what is called
"triangulation" to get a better idea of the results.
Data were collected and analysed effectively using different methods for data collection and evaluation.
This is done to ensure that the reliability survey, validity and reliability. The results are discussed in light
of the theory raised in the study. This was done taking into account the relationship to the results. While
employees are dissatisfied with the outcome of merger, it has been found that there are other factors
such as work environment, compensation, recognition, responsibility, teamwork and security that can
lead to employee dissatisfaction.
Therefore, it was concluded when a merger is made, management should not only focus on the bottomline,
but also to pay more attention to human factors that can lead to failure or success of the acquisition.
Integration and intervention programs can be used as tools for successful operations post mergers and
acquisitions.
