Abstract
The purpose of this research is to find out whether retail business in the Maldives face barriers and challenges in adopting e-commerce.
This research adopted qualitative research methodology, where participants are selected from the retail sector in the Maldives. The main finding from this study reveals that these barriers and challenges are very specific to the retail environment of the Maldives.
Additional findings include how retail businesses perceive ecommerce and its impact to the retail business
