INTRODUCTION
Overindulging children has recently become common trend among Maldivian parents. By giving too much to children too early and by not giving any responsibly is believe to be the way of parent show their love to their children. When children are overindulged like this children fail to learn necessary life skills for their later life. This is even evident from the young population of Maldives today. The voluntary unemployment rate in young population is more than 40 percent.
This is national concern which may have its root ingrained in such parental practices like overindulgence. Despite of the negative effects of parental overindulgence, why Maldivian parent overindulge their children is unclear. The study mainly aim to determine the correlation between parental overindulgence and how much children love their parent in Male city. In addition to this the study also aim to identify factors associated with overindulgence and love for parent.
