Abstract
The purpose of this research is to find the factors which is influencing secondary students attitude towards BTEC diploma courses in secondary schools of Addu City. This research include the relationship between the public image and the attitude of the students towards BTEC diploma courses. In addition, through this research the relationship between the parent belief and the attitude of the students towards BTEC diploma courses are investigated. Likewise, the correlation between the academic performance and the attitude of the students. Moreover, this study also find whether there is any significant relationship between the gender and the attitude of the students towards BTEC diploma course. Also, relationship between personal factors and the attitude of the students is tested. Finally, this research also test whether there is any significant difference between the attitudes of the students towards BTEC Diploma courses due to teachers motivation. The design of this research is cross-sectional survey and a total of 188 students is selected for the study. The questionnaire used for the research is previously reliability tested one with few alterations. The result of this study shows there is a correlation between the public image, teacher motivation. parent belief and the attitude of the students BTEC Diploma courses. Also, the research shows there is negative correlation between the academic performance and the attitude of the students towards BTEC diploma courses. Finally, the study shows there is no correlation between the personal factors, gender, personal factors and the attitude of the students towards BTEC Diploma courses.
