Abstract
This research evaluates the benefits, barriers and opportunities of adopting cloud computing in the Maldives. Cloud computing is one of the recent phenomena that has created many opportunities like the integration with loT and Big data analytics, and for the telecommunication industry the mobile cloud computing can be beneficial in reducing cost with bulky equipment. With the barriers like integration issues and security concerns are highlighted in the research which indicates the hesitation and fear of adopting the cloud computing. Hence it is a popular topic in developing countries for the researchers, due to it's the acceptance level of which is a recent innovative technology. The acceptance level differs from developed countries when compared to the Maldives which is a developing country. Even with the benefits and opportunities the lack of awareness which will take time to penetrate the adoption of cloud computing across the Maldives. By using qualitative analysis with semi-structured interviews, evolving benefits, barriers and opportunities are emphasized in the research.
