Abstract
The general objective of this study was to identify factors influencing teachers' motivation and job performance in a public school of Maldives. The study sought to identify factors of motivation that can lead to teacher's job performance. The study employed a case study design and followed a qualitative paradigm for research. The participants were selected via purposeful sampling that included teachers and school management team members. Data was collected through semi-structured interviews and focus group interviews. Thematic analysis was used to analyze the data. The findings of the research revealed that motivation of the teachers was influenced by their working environment, resources and salary. The study recommends an increase in salaries, provision adequate resources and improved working environments in order to motivate teachers and improve their job performance.
