Abstract

A growing number of studies have been done to examine the importance of parent involvement and student success. In fact in today's education it gives it gives very important to involve parents in child studies. As a result the purpose of this study was to explore the effects of parent involvement on student success.

A qualitative case study used in this study to find out the effects of parent involvement on student success by interpretivist paradigm. One of the school from Laamu atoll was selected for this study. Purposive sampling used to collect the data. Data collection method used for this research is semi-structured interview. Total I 0 participant take part in the study, that's from five parents and five teachers from secondary grade. Data was collected through face to face interview.

Current research aimed to find out the effects of parent involvement on student success. The findings from the study revealed that its parental involvement brings positive effects on student academic achievement, student behavioral problem and work completion.

Conversely, the study suggested parent involvement helps student self-esteem high. As well as to build positive relationship with teachers. Nevertheless the finding of the study indicated when a student goes to higher level parents involvement is low. Therefore the study recommend parents to involve in child education throughout their education for the betterment of a child.

In conclusion, the recommended area and further research areas are also indicated for the beneficial of parental involvement.
