Executive Summary

This research had been compiled to complete Masters of Business Administration of University of West of England in collaboration with Villa College, Maldives. This research was aimed to gain knowledge from the area of microfinance which had been the least knowledge area for me to study with. The area of this research was to examine more knowledge. Finance has been one of the keen area that had been in the list of understanding the concepts in it.
This research aims to compile information from various aspect to understand the feasibility of having microfinance institution or to have microfinance institution establishment. This research was designed in triangulation to understand the concept of the research to gain systematic information from various parties involved in the research. This research was formulated to gain information from various aspects, views, opinions with understanding their mindset on microfinance.
The research aims to target to the audience who want to understand microfinance, who want to accomplish the research in the area, the ones who want to establish microfinance in Maldives. The financial institutions would need to get this information for them to have their business establish as well as the businessmen who want to understand these demands of microfinance. Also to understand who these businesses will run. This research is focused on academicians and researchers to gain this information that is been listed in this research.
