Abstract
The present dynamic world values performance and productivity of the employees as the most important asset within in an organization. This asset is eventually used as a mean to meet the organizational goal and objectives. Nevertheless, without an incentive to increase performance and productivity of employees, this asset could be lost within the organization. Given the amount of research, the fact that work environment and design can influence employees' performance and productivity cannot be denied. For this study, employees from the Mechanical Services Unit of the Maldives Airports Company was surveyed to find the relationship between work environment and design on employees' performance and productivity. From this research, a positive correlation is observed between the two. Noise level and temperature were the factors which were determined to cause the most hindrance to employee productivity.
