Abstract:

The outcome of training can be astonishing. In determining the effectiveness of training, the transfer of training plays an important role. Billions of dollars are spent by organizations to keep their humans capital at strength. However, this could be a dissipate investment if the trainees are unable to transfer the training attended within their jobs. This study, using Baldwin and Fold's model of transfer, combining theoretical and exploration research, tries to find and analyze the factors that help in improving training effectiveness within the employees, as a way to enhance human capital and to create sustainable competitive advantage. The study has been conducted at the Maldives Airport Company Limited (MACL), Republic of Maldives. Using Pearson Correlation, this research identifies the relationship between training, trainee characteristic, training design and work environment that foster or impede transfer of training process. Next z-test is employed for testing the hypothesis documented in this study. The findings from this study suggest all training factors plays significant role. Finally, discussion and direction for future research are presented at the end of chapter.
