Abstract:

The phenomenon of climate change and the resulting focus on energy consumption has created a consensus among businesses concerning the need for a collective reduction in carbon emission. A range of new Green technologies, such as cloud computing, paper recycling, and proper ways of disposing information technology instruments and products have arisen in an effort to help reduce energy costs and combat global warming. Enterprises are equally concerned with optimizing the business value derived from investments in Green Information Technology (GIT).
However, research shows that the measurement of IT value is a complex, challenging process involving multiple stakeholders. To tackle these climate challenges, policy makers are now on focus to achieve green growth by implementing new policies. This project is thus mainly focused in the impact of green IT on an organization. Bandos Island resort will be used as the Case Study.

Keywords: Green IT, carbon emission.
