Summary
Latheefa Verrall was born in 1960 on the island of Male', Maldive Islands. Her story is based on her recollections of growing up in a country which was very different to today's Maldives.
This personal history of the author's childhood portrays a lost world of innocence and social harmony. Through her memories she narrates the early changes during the 1950s and 1960s that created the socially diverse Maldivian society of the 1970s ad 1980s.
