Abstract:
Mathematics is there all around the universe. Mathematics is essential in daily lives as well as in industries, business, governance, science and technology. In spite of importance of mathematics, one of the main global concern in education field was lack of motivation and low performance in mathematics. When looked at Maldivian schools a similar trend of low performance in mathematics was observed. Hence, it was vital to find out the factors which Mathematics performance of Maldivian students. Therefore, the objectives were to find out the relationship between Learning Styles, Teaching Strategies and Motivation of secondary Mathematics Students of Fuvahmulah. Further, it found out the difference between males and females in their Motivation towards Mathematics. A quantitative, cross-sectional study design, with stratified sampling technique was employed in this study. A survey questionnaire was used for data collection. And this was analysed using SPSS. The study revealed that there was a significant relationship between Learning Styles, Teaching Strategies and Motivation of secondary Mathematics Students of Fuvahmulah. Moreover, it also showed that there was a significant difference between male and female students' in their motivation towards mathematics.
