Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to study the relationship between motivation and job satisfaction of school teachers. Developing teacher's motivation does not exercise much on school. However, there were some activities practices in some of the schools to improve teacher's motivation and satisfaction in school level. This study was mainly focus on the needs of teacher's motivation and satisfaction to perform in the job. Quantitative research method was used to achieve the objective. A stratifies sampling method was employed to select the participants for the survey. Sixty teachers from a population of 119 were selected to participate in this study. A questionnaire was distributed to each teacher. Responses from each teacher were tabulated and SPSS data analysis was used to analyze the result to make a conclusion. There were two specific research objectives first to determine if teachers' motivation towards work varies according to gender, age, education level and recognition and second is to determine which of the five dimensions of teachers' motivation towards work contributes most towards teachers' job satisfaction. The result show that there is no significant relationship between the motivation of the factors and the satisfaction of teachers.
